It may not usually be considered the best game in the arena of gambling, but keno has loads of keen fans. As well it should! It’s a routinely thrilling lotto-ish game that’s easy to play, abundantly available in several different formats, and one that might pay out millions of dollars for players who master its uncounted subtle rules. But let’s begin with the basics for now.

When describing keno to newcomers, some gambling pros compare it to bingo. This is at least partially correct, in that both games are generally numerical. Yet to carry that comparison too far will be to undervalue the great many unique aspect that make keno so compelling. Not like bingo, keno players have the ability to pick the numbers for every card.

Keno cards have a grand total of 80 numbers, but the player is granted an extra degree of personal responsibility by being able to pick as numerous (or as few) numbers as she needs. And it doesn’t take a keno superstar to determine how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all of your chosen numbers with a standard#2 pencil like you used back in the day.

Now that you’ve selected your numbers, take your card back to the clerk at the keno booth. The nice person will record those numbers and then give you a receipt. Make sure no to misplace this (potentially) valuable bit of paper! Even if the keno pit manager remembers your pretty face and would like to help out, without a winning slip in hand, you will collect exactly $.00 for your winning card.

Now there you have strategy numero uno: always be sure to keep your keno receipt. Let us move on to something a little more useful, what do you think?

Once you’ve checked off your numbers, get yourself into a nice keno booth and observe the action unfold on the big keno monitor. That is where the winning numbers are displayed for all to see. If you’ve got winning numbers, mark your card aptly. Be sure not to dilly dally, or sit there congratulating yourself for too great a length of time. You really want to get up to the keno booth to redeem your winnings, and a new keno game will almost certainly start within five minutes.

Strategy #2: always be sure to get back to the keno booth on time!

Assuming you can not trust yourself to meet that 5 minute deadline each and every time, you always retain the option of using a "multi-race" ticket. These include the very same set of your selected numbers on anywhere from two to twenty slips. When the maximum amount of rounds (fitting the amount of tickets) is finished, you will then be able to get off your lazy rump and go retrieve your winnings.

Yet another opportunity is referred to as a "stray and play" keno card, which generally lets you make number choices for 30 keno games or more. Hell, you can take vacation to France and not have to worry about getting back in time to get your winnings. Most "stray and play" game tickets are good for up to a whole year after you purchase it!

So now you are aware of a couple necessary schemes for winning keno. If you are a good user, they may appear to be very obvious. But it does not hurt to bone up on the basics, and if you are a new user, every little bit of advice will help make your keno wagering more entertaining.
