• Keno’s History

    [ English ]

Keno was created in two hundred BC by the Chinese military leader, Cheung Leung who utilized this game as a way to finance his failing forces. The city of Cheung was waging a war, and after some time appeared to be facing country wide famine with the excessive decrease in supplies. Cheung Leung had to develop a quick fix for the economic disaster and to create money for his forces. He, as it follows designed the game we now know as keno and it was a wonderful success.

Keno was referred to as the White Pigeon Game, due to the fact that the winning numbers were delivered by pigeons from bigger locations to the smaller towns. The lotto ‘Keno’ was imported to America in the 1800s by Chinese newcomers who came to the United States for jobs. In those times, Keno was played with one hundred and twenty numbers.

Today, Keno is typically wagered on with eighty numbers in just about all of the US based casinos along with web casinos. Keno is commonly enjoyed today as a consequence of the relaxed nature of gambling the game and the simple reality that there are little skills needed to enjoy Keno. Regardless of the fact that the odds of winning are horrible, there is always the possibility that you might hit quite big with a tiny gaming investment.

Keno is enjoyed with eighty numbers with twenty numbers drawn each round. Enthusiasts of Keno can choose from 2 to 10 numbers and wager on them, whatever amount they want to. The pay out of Keno is dependent on the wagers made and the roll out of matching numbers.

Keno has grown in acceptance in the US since the close of the 19th century when the Chinese characters were replaced with more familiar, US numbers. Lotteries were not covered under the legalization of gaming in Nevada State in Nineteen Thirty One. The casinos changed the name of the ‘Chinese lottery’ to ‘horse race keno’ utilizing the idea that the numbers are horses and you want your horses to come in. When a law passed that levied a tax on off track betting, the casinos swiftly changed the name to ‘Keno’.
