It may not commonly be thought of as the best game in the universe of gambling, but keno has millions of passionate admirers. As well it should! It’s a consistently entertaining lotto-ish game that’s uncomplicated to master, readily available in tons of different styles, and one that will pay out millions for gamblers who learn its innumerable subtle intricacies. But let’s deal with the basic rules for now.

When describing keno to amateurs, some gambling pros compare it to the lottery. This is at least to a certain extent apt, in that each game is basically numerical. But to carry that comparison too far can be to belittle the good many unique aspect that make keno so fun. Unlike bingo, keno users have the freedom to choose the numbers for each and every card.

Keno cards have a grand total of eighty numbers, but the player is granted an additional level of personal responsibility by being able to decide on as numerous (or as few) numbers as he or she needs. And it doesn’t take a doctor of keno to figure out how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all your selected numbers with a every day oldpen like you used when you were in school.

After you have marked your numbers, take the keno card back to the person at the keno stand. The clerk will record your numbers and then hand you a receipt. Do not lose this (potentially) lucrative bit of paper! Even if the clerk remembers you and wants help out, without a winning receipt with you, you will get precisely $.00 for your time spent.

Ok, there you have strategy #1: always make sure to keep your keno receipt. Let’s get on to something a little more complex, shall we?

After you’ve selected your numbers, get yourself into a comfortable keno booth and watch the action take place on the screen. This is where the winning numbers appear for us. If you have winners, mark your card appropriately. Sake care not to drag your feet, or sit there congratulating yourself for too great a length of time. You really want to get up to the keno booth to redeem your winnings, since a new round of keno will most likely start up within five minutes.

Strategy #2: always be sure to get back to the keno booth on time!

Since you can’t trust yourself to make that 5 minute margin each and every time, you always have the option of purchasing a "multi-race" card. These include the same set of your desired numbers on anywhere from two to 20 tickets. When the max number of keno games (matching the amount of tickets) is finished, you can then get off your numb rump and go get your winnings.

Another alternative is referred to as a "stray and play" keno slip, which generally lets you make number picks for thirty keno games or more. Gosh, you can take vacation to Italy and not have to worry about getting back in time to get your winnings. Most "stray and play" tickets are good for up to a whole year after purchase!

And now you are aware of a handful of necessary schemes for winning keno. If you are an adept keno player, they may appear to be incredibly obvious. Still, it will never hurt to study up on the fundamentals, and if you are a beginner keno player, every little bit of direction will help make your keno gambling more captivating.
